It's always a bummer when the po-po bogarts your weed and pipes. But who says you can't fight back? A Colorado couple that was growing marijuana for medicinal purposes is threatening to sue the Larimer County sheriff's department because the officers couldn't keep their chronic alive.Clearly there aren't enough grow lamps in the station house: The suit notes that the state's medical marijuana laws require the cops to take care of whatever plants they seize.
How much are the growers suing for? (See after the jump.)
The couple's lawyer says the county killed their 39 plants, which were worth "in excess of $100,000," and one of which was reduced to a "moldy, black pool of goo."
Questions raised: How long does it take for a marijuana leaf to turn into black goo? Would that goo be potent enough to get you high if you smoked it? Would you rather smoke or snort decaying marijuana goo?
The Takeaway: If cops raid your grow house, give them detailed instructions and diagrams.
