Finally, reality catches up with James Bond. With the push of a button, the sQuba car by Rinspeed supposedly turns into an amphibious vehicle capable of going 33 feet underwater.
This submarine car is perfect for everyday use, whether smuggling drugs or trying to escape from the KGB.
The sQuba is equipped with two propellers in the stern and two jet drives in the bow to steer the vehicle while diving underwater. There don't appear to be any fail-safes to make sure you don't sink below 33 feet, but there is a system to provide the driver and passenger with air.
Now, we at Asylum are no submarine-car experts, but the vehicle pictured above doesn't seem too realistic, since water might be able to seep into a convertible with the top down.
The sQuba will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show, March 6th thru 16th, 2008.
