As geeks across the country get all moist over the thought of the latest gadgets that will be released at the Consumer Electronics Show, we'd like to pause for a moment and have you consider some of the worst gadgets ever made. Remember, all things with a AA battery the sweet Lord made were not created equal.

The inventor is blessed with creativity and motivated by the desire to make someone's life just a little better, whether via the light bulb, the airplane or even the Hello Kitty ATM. The critic is motivated only by his own insecurity, seeking to elevate himself by denigrating others; he creates nothing, and no one benefits from his presence or his smug remarks. If I'm in an overcrowded lifeboat with an inventor and a critic, I think you can guess who's going overboard first.
