Chef Mario Batali rakes in millions serving up tripe, sweetbreads and wild boar.Anthony Bourdain practically makes a living out of eating parts of animals that you don't even want to think about being attached to your steak.
But would either of them want a three-course meal of eye of newt, wing of bat and brain stew in a butter sauce? The authors of "Take Me to Your Leader" have compiled a brief atlas of the strangest creatures on Earth that humans consume. This trip isn't for the queasy.

I have been to France many, many times and NEVER have I heard of eating mule or any other burdened animal. They DO, however, (and I did, too, while I was there) eaten cow brains. They are a delicacy. They also consider bone marrow from cow spine to be a delicacy... they boil the bones, add some vegetables for additional flavor, and have it as soup. Then they crack the vertebrae of the cow and spread the boiled marrow on baguette silces. Both are strange, but very, very good. And, like they say... when in Rome, you do as the Romans do!

Bill Dunham Jr. :
Eggs are NOT ovaries. They are eggs. And if I am not mistaken, many other countries eat them as well.

You eat what you can find in your own back yard. As for eating horse, dog, etc. it is no worse than eating a steak - the animals are bred for just that purpose.Keep an open mind. You may find you like whatever is put in front of you !

By no yak for me
the first in the pictorial suggests a few things americans eat,...United States
Before you start groaning about the foods people eat throughout the world, consider that Americans eat bison, water buffalo, yak, squirrel brains, and calf testicles -- known as prairie oysters, Rocky Mountain oysters or "swinging sirloin."
WTF?, I dont believe i've Ever had water buffalo or yak! Never heard of americans eating that huh
