Salvia Divinorum: A Legal Psychedelic Drug?
Via Wikipedia: "Salvia divinorum has a long continuing tradition of use as an entheogen by indigenous Mazatecshamans, who use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions.... Salvia divinorum can be chewed or smoked to produce experiences ranging from uncontrollable laughter to much more intense and profoundly altered states.
"The duration is much shorter than for some other more well known psychedelics; the effects of smoked salvia typically last for only a few minutes. The most commonly reported after-effects include an increased feeling of insight and improved mood, and a sense of calmness and increased sense of connection with nature -- though much less often it may also cause dysphoria (unpleasant or uncomfortable mood)."
Below are a few vids (via Random Good Stuff) that illustrate the salvia high.

wow sally d... this is not an easy going drug, most of my trips on it have been kinda wacky and uncomfortable, but since it is so crazy most people don't use it more than once. i have though... i did hear that it is thought to be an agonist to the k opioid recepter. this leading scientists to think that this recepter helps to regulate self-perceptioin. salvia d makes me feel crazy when i am on it; i am in another realm of conscious that can't be comprehended by my sober mind, i look at myself from a wierd viewpoint, and have had some crazy trips. its not fun or a party drug, but a very intuitive drug. other close species can be used to benefit your health.

gbrown: Obviously, salvia has affected your spelling: It's "receptor", not "recepter"; "weird", not "wierd".

Salvia may yet become illegal thanks to such self-gratifying wankers who don't recognize a good thing when they see it.
The one saving grace of a video such as the latter is to instruct people what NOT to do, namely, try salvia or any entheogen in the presence of a group of hooting adolescent cretins whose capacity for compassion is on a par with that of a garden slug.
My unsolicited opinions and advice come free of charge; you can agree or you can bite me and I don't really care which.
* Don't do drugs. Jail isn't fun and neither is needing therapy.
* If you understand the difference between entheogens and drugs and
* If you have the mental capacity to understand the importance of basic survival skills such as RESPECT for things you aren't familiar with and
* If you can at least acknowledge the possibility of life and intelligence transcending that of the limits of your own experience through your physical senses and
* If you have a friend or two that you trust with your LIFE and
* If you're willing to sit down, shut up, and LISTEN
...then go meet your ally and you might even learn something.
