With Superman Missing, DoD Shoots Down Satellite
Since Superman could not be found at the Hall of Justice, the U.S. Department of Defense was forced to shoot down a doomed satellite that threatened to crash into the Earth and release a cloud of toxic fuel. The tactical missile was fired around 10:26 p.m. Eastern Time on February 20 from the USS Lake Erie, at a cost of around $50 million. The DoD has not yet confirmed that the fuel tank itself was destroyed in the resulting explosion. But by releasing this video, they have confirmed that it looked really cool.

50 mill, that's great and it would have contaminated an area less then 1/2 the size of my backyard. More of a "look at we can do" then anything else. Bush is such an idiot, leave already.

They'd better spend this money to clean up the space... there is too much trash there... Soon, we 'd have no possibility to launch there anything without danger of collision.
