Ever sent back food in a restaurant and then thought you saw an evil glint in the chef's eye? Here's a new reason to be paranoid: A chef in Wisconsin has been arrested and charged with a felony after hiding a collection of hairs inside a customer's food.
Ryan Kropp, who until recently worked at a steakhouse in West Bend, Wis., prepared a 16-ounce rib-eye for a man dining with his friends and family. But when the man complained that his steak was cooked medium, not medium-rare as he had requested, Kropp was told to prepare a second steak for the man to take home.
Apparently, Kropp thought the man was "just trying to get free stuff." He allegedly added a secret, disgusting (yet protein-rich) bonus: "several strands of what appeared to be hair coming out of the middle of the steak."
The customer called the police, who then charged the 24-year-old cook with a felony ("placing foreign objects in edibles") that carries penalties of up to three-and-a-half years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The hairs were reportedly from the chef's face. If you think about it, things could have been a lot worse.
Looking for more food to avoid? Start with these terrible candy bars.
Instead of risking the potential horrors of tainted restaurant food, stay in and impress your lady with these easy recipes.

"GROSS ISN'T IT" ... my son's friend (from 7-years ago) ... would pee into the deep fryer at his late shift fast food job... he enjoyed the way it .."crackled" ! ... also ... my friend's son .. would pee into the pickle jar (at resturant where he worked as a cook) ...then watch as the waitress pulled out the pickle and sliced it in half .. to put on the customers plate ! ... i spoke to a lady on this subject ..and.. she said, that her son worked at a buffet .. and on his first day .. he .. dropped a piece of fried chicken (on the way out to the customers) .. he went to throw it away ... and ... was stopped by the manager .. and told .. "we do not waist food around here" ! .. that every piece is accounted for ! .. well her son quit the next day .. and her family does not go there anymore. (two out of three of these places are well known) !!!

I heard a gay guy say onetime that he ejaculated into an Italian Creme Cake he baked. Believe me, I will never eat one of those type cakes in a restaurant again, as long as I live. That was the most nauseating thing I ever heard. How can a person do something like that to his fellow human beings ???

I would gladly unleash ever violent tendency in my body if a chef ever did that to me & I found out about it later. Twisted society that we live in thinks this is the way to resolve problem issues. It was no sweat off the punk chef's ass to do his job properly & prepare the patron's steak who pays the dumbass's salary. We are really getting to be a society unwilling to follow authority. This chefs attitude needs to be topped off with him receiving a 5 star serving of whoop ass!

would just like to say as a ex-volunter cook at an American Legion that is open to the public I got plenty of what we call snow birds who are mostly grumpy old canadians. I worked steak night and can tell you it is frustrating when you have people say they want steak one way then you give it to them and they say oh no i want it thais way. I have never done anything to anybodys steak but I have told a couple people to figure out what they really want. Its not always the cooks fault.

With due respect to Lee Allen;Google Mr.McCain's involvement during and after the horrific accident and subsequent fire onboard the USS FORESTALL CV-59 in 1967. A thorough read on this, in most peoples minds, would qualify the term "HERO" to be used in regard to Mr.McCain.

About the John McCain comment, I guess he is considered a hero because when he was released, I believe he refused to leave his comrades and stayed with them in the prison camp.

LEE ALLEN, HOW MANY WARS HAVE YOU SERVED IN PARTNER? NOW WHAT WOULD MCAIN HAVE DOING AT THE TIME HE WAS CAPTURED? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU PARACHUTED INTO THE JUNGLE AFTER BEING SHOT DOWN? THIS MAN PUT HIS LIFE ON THE LINE EVERY TIME HE FLEW OVER N. VIETNAM THAT MAKES HIM A HERO. YOU QUESTIONING HIS HEROISM MAKES YOU SOMETHING TOO. AN IDIOT.

When I had gone in to pick her up one day, I was in the back...someone had returned soup because it wasn't warm at all. The owner picked his nose, nuked the bowl and sent it back PERSONALLY ..they coudn't have been more cordial to him!! He did this ALL in front of me!! Not even an employee...he was laughing the whole time. This was in Queens NY...

In response to the Jesse Jackson comment PROVE that he said that!!!!!! How ignorant to state something so perverse....I really want the site or proof it was said. Because obviously you donot realize if you just spout off comments ie hearsay like your statement that is defamation of character and you could and should be sued.
you asked for it, so go tohttp://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2007/04/on_imus_so_whil.html

I beg to differ about calling President Kennedy a war hero. After his boat was run over his actions could be considered heroic, but if you think about it, his boat should never have been run over in the first place.
He allowed his small, speedy PT boat to be run over by a much larger, slower and way less maneuverable ship, a destroyer if memory serves. This should NEVER have happened and in any other man's navy(in other words without his powerful father's influence) instead of a medal, he would be court martialed!

Years ago I worked a private party in a dining room that was seldom used at that time of year. The food was perfect, the atmosphere was wonderful, the guests had a great time and the service (if I do say so myself) could not have been improved upon. However, everyone complained about the taste of the after dinner coffee. (It was made in the type of large 5-gallon commercial metal pot used at the time instead of the individual pots used now.) As we cleaned up after the party, we found a petrified mouse in the coffee pot. We were mortified. It's been 40 years and this is the first time the mouse story has been told.

I once saw an "in depth" tv documentary on the subject of food contamination for retaliation. It showed actual video of everything from spit to sh*t being put into food! One cook literally wiped his behind with a raw steak that got cooked and served. This practice is actually quite common in our society. Far more common than most of us would believe.
There really should be more restrictive laws and actual severe penalties for this sick behavior! One good place to start would be to require ALL food establishments to maintain live video feeds of their kitchens. All public food establishments should be forced to provide this as a minimum requirement. These could then be monitored by the health department and/or the general public. It could be easilly accomplished via an innexpensive internet feed. Something like a "Nanny Cam", of a minimum level of definition, would not be that expensive, and would be a great deterent. It would also prevent other unhealthy practices and conditions that are all too common in the restaurant industry. This would be even more effective if it actually came with the force of say . . a mandatory fine, placement on a watch list, loss/suspension of licenses, or say ten years in jail with no parole for the actual perpetrator! The "scarlett letter" approach is another good idea. Our current system puts the responsibility on the business owner. It is impossible to monitor every action of every employee, at every moment. The perpetrator of such a vile act should be marked, or at least black listed on a national registry to prevent them from ever handling food again. My guess is that owners of restaurants rarely ever take chances like this. It's hard enough to keep a restaurant operating without tempting fate by being a fool!
