With details of his personal life traveling around the world at Internet speed, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales isn't having a great time these days.

He went out with controversial Canadian TV pundit Rachel Marsden for less than a month, and then dumped her through a statement on Wikipedia. Smooth move, eh? Wales has seen the breakup blow up in his face: Marsden distributed their steamy chat transcripts, put the shirt he left at her place up for auction, and charged that Wales may have used his position to change her Wikipedia entry.

Wales tried to respond on Wikipedia (he later moved the response to his personal blog). But then a former employee, Danny Wool, continued the embarrassing revelations, noting that Wales not only had multiple extra-marital affairs, but also used his non-profit's funds to spend $650 on two bottles of wine and submitted receipts for a Moscow massage parlor. Not exactly what well-meaning donors expect when they're ponying up support.

Questions raised: If you're being publicly slighted by your ex, should you slam him or her back? Would you like to see a lot more personal info posted on Wikipedia? Why can't everyone sell their ex's junk on eBay?
