A camera has been invented that can "see" through people's clothes, and find explosives, drugs and weapons from up to 75 feet away.Adapted from technology normally used to study dying stars, the Thruvision system uses unharmful "terahertz rays" -- or T-rays -- to pick up low-level radiation given off by people and objects.
The newest version of the technology is more powerful and is the first that can be used inside and outside.
But in a huge disappointment for airport security-staff members everywhere, the T-rays do not reveal the "body details" of people passing through the sensors. That means no sneaky looks at the good stuff.
So for enterprising voyeurs everywhere -- keep working on those X-ray glasses.
The T-ray is close...but no cigar. For more almost-useful gadgets, turn to our round-up of terrible inventions.
If only you could mount the T-Ray at work, your cubicle would be a lot more entertaining. But before that happens, check out our list of existing cubicle enhancements instead.

This is an invasion of privacy especially for men who have radioactive seed implants for prostate cancer, or women who have seed implants for breast cancer. Find a better way to examine for weapons, since the technology today is capable of doing so.
