With the release of "Semi-Pro" and March Madness descending upon us, one question looms large: Why has basketball played host to so many horrendous hairdos?

Most players (at least the professionals) have the cash for stylists who can give tonsorial tips, and yet for every fantastic collection of locks such as Artis Gilmore's, there's also a Larry Bird "$5 Special" that looks like it dropped from the wrong end of a Flowbee.

Maybe it's because ballers are so tall they think no one will notice what's on top of their heads. But we do, and we're concerned.
