So, you're a desperate Canuck who just ponied up good cash to bring a mail-order bride out to the Saskatchewan wilderness. But (Surprise!) she isn't happy.
Before you demand that refund, check out an Edmonton site that aims to help foreign-born wives transition into their new Canadian lives. (That would be the life of a bacon-and-suds-swillin' subservient wife?)
"We were seeing more and more foreign brides coming to us asking for help," said San San Sy, of Changing Together, a center for immigrant women in Edmonton, which helped launch www.lawforforeignbrides.ca.
"The dream is for them to access the information before they come [to Canada]."
