Six spamming networks are responsible for more than 85 percent of the world's junk e-mail.And according to new research, 39 percent of that spam originates from a single computer virus, the Srizbi botnet, which infects tens of thousands of computers around the world.
Almost 70 percent of spam e-mail promotes male "enhancement" pills, the researchers say. The United States is the largest source of it, producing 15 percent of the 90 billion junk e-mails sent every day.
We at Asylum obviously do not recommend that anyone open spam messages. But then again, "Stacey" just e-mailed with a great offer on herbal medicines...and you'd be a fool to turn down something like that, right?
