Kaboom is written by a young platoon leader who goes by the moniker Lt. G. His entire bio reads, "Embracing the Suck. Happiness is diggity. Thus."
Rules of Engagement March 23rd, 2008
"Light 'em up. A quick burst or two of 50-caliber rounds should suffice. I've never tasted blood-lust before, not the lethal brew anyhow, but it seeped into my soul this night. As I've written before, I didn't come here to kill, and never felt to impulse or desire to truly end a man's life. But here it was, arriving as quickly as the crawling terrorists had. Kill or be killed. Never has this war been so clear, so pure, so obvious, so clean. And yet...
The platoon leader in me knew we couldn't shoot yet... "

Thank you will never be enough.
Reading the thoughts of these young warriors and heroes is far more enlightning and real than the media hype and spin.
Every paper should print these blogs. Maybe more Americans could better understand the whys if they could read first hand instead of being the expert arm chair warrior pundits they think they are; and that includes the desk jockey politicos that haved yet to serve their country.
May God keep you in his heart, all of you are in mine.

For all the men and women who cared enough to enlist. Thank you for setting the example, "walking the walk", and giving us hope, and heros.

There is NEVER anything good about war. , and yet sometimes the most courageous and heartwarming tales come from the "ordinary" people who fight them. In civilized society we are taught that it is wrong to kill for any reason. But the men and women in our military have NO CHOICE but to kill in order to survive. The cost it must take on their hearts and souls I cannot begin to imagen. But, it is a cost that must be paid from time to time. We who are left behind must never forget the courage, dedication and strength that each of yall have each and everyday that yall are over there. May God keep you safe so you may come home to those of us who are proud of you. Come home to us who love you.
