Less than a week into his first tour of Iraq, 25-year-old Thomas Young was sent on a mission to Sadr City. While riding in an unarmored Humvee with no canvas covering, he was shot just above his left collarbone and instantly paralyzed. During his brief tour of duty, Young didn't fire a single round. His story is just one of the many thousands that have emerged from the war. Like many soldiers, he faced a bigger struggle once he arrived home. The new documentary "Body of War" ruminates on Thomas coming to terms with his disability and with the war itself.
The documentary's soundtrack includes two original songs by Eddie Vedder, as well as tracks by Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Neil Young, Tori Amos and Ben Harper. The movie will be soon be popping up in theaters. Watch Eddie Vedder's music video below for more info, and after the jump, see Brendan James performing "Hero's Song."
