If you haven't already been tipped off by that cake made of sponges in your break room, today is April Fools' Day.

We've already gathered together some of the web's April 1 pranks, but if you're not impressed by Google's fake press releases, Tasty Booze has the real goods: the Top 100 Hoaxes of All Time. And the surprise? Some of them are actually funny.

But while the alien autopsy, the iceberg that appeared in Australia, and the Alabama government changing the official value of pi are all very amusing, we think the list missed out on some vital hoaxes that have not -- until now -- ever been revealed:

-- More than 95 percent of potato chips in the United States are not actually made of potatoes, but a carrot/sweet-corn mixture developed for the space race.

-- Monkeys can't walk backwards.

-- The sky is blue because it reflects the color of the sea, not (as is commonly thought), the reverse.

(One or all of these might be lies.)

Any other hoaxes to report? Let us know in the comments.
