We knew that whole bit about the English being "sexually repressed" was just a load of hooey, but who knew British blokes regularly hold business meetings in London's lap-dance clubs?Turns out, getting that Powerpoint waxed is "widespread" and "increasingly normal."
While a little distraction might be a good way to grease the wheels and get a deal done, a British women's group won't have any of it.
The Fawcett Society released a report calling the practice sexist, and the group demands it be stopped. Fawcett Director Katherine Rake said, "Within a business context, women's bodies being exposed is demeaning and degrading.... It is time for women and men to stand up against the sexist culture of objectifying women that has gripped our society."
All we can think is: If only some of those redcoats had brought strippers to the Boston Tea Party, that whole Revolutionary War might have gone very differently.
Question raised: Do you think American strip joints get as much play from buttoned-up, midwestern businessmen -- or is the "problem" more widespread in Britain?

My god...people are so sexually desperate. All I can imagine is that the alcohol washes away the humiliation that they should possibly would, be feeling if they were consciously awake enough to realize how pathetic their actions truly are.

I'm sure it gets just as much play in America if not more. Face it, sex sells. Take a male client to a strip club get him boozed up, relaxed, turned on, and it makes for a much easier sell. When you mix something like sex and booze with the business it satisfies a primal human instinct and then the client associates the business being conducted with something enjoyable. My only bitch is the same should be done for women! Where the hell are the ALL NUDE MALE REVIEWS??

Talk about being uptight! Really! If they expect to crackdown on this in UK,what fun is there left? Huh? Spending money in the local pub,or better yet,Hard Rock Cafe. But what if none is around? I bet behind this is an uptight UK Lass, that was burned for being turned down by both a "(quote)boyfriend(unquote)" or not given a lap dance from a "Chippendale"traveling show OR she was offended to see her own male relative being rejected at the premier of the "Full Monty". Remember turnabout is fair play. Even in the US,most "clubs"do have either a Ladies night with "male" dancers and even some of the Ladies decide instead come to the other nights and find ways to entice their men. Why do you think pole dancing is the latest craze in learning how to keep in shape. Open to comments!
