A new promotion by McDonald's in Japan has unleashed hell on the fast-food world. Not only have they released the Mega Mac (four patties and cheese), they have also developed equivalent "mega'"sandwiches for breakfast and dinner. Holy Taco points us to the news, and also finds a woman named Khalilah who ate all three sandwiches in a single day. "I'm tired, with low energy, irritable, and I have an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach," says the woman.
Whatever. We'd totally eat one. In fact, we think there are only a few ways the Mega Mac could be improved:
-- Four patties? Why stop there? Five patties! No, six!
-- Deep fry the whole thing and wrap it in cheese.
-- Put it on a pizza.

Burger King has had a 4 patty burger for a while, called the Quad Stacker. http://www.bk.com/#menu=2,63,-1
Hardee's/Carl's Jr. are still selling there Philly Cheesesteak burger, basically a hamburger with a philly cheesesteak as a topping instead of things like lettuce.

The 4 patties are only equal to 1/2 a pound, they use a smaller patty. If you go to any wendys they can give you a burger with as many patties as you want for a dollar a piece, the largest I have sold was a 8 patty burger (thats 2 pounds of meat), there is no way the person could have fit there mouth around it, they just said they wanted to have the biggest burger we had ever sold, and they came through the drive through so I don't know if they even ate it.

Let's hope this "new" burger doesn't make its way from Japan to the US! Sounds like McDonald's is trying to get the Japanese people to have sky-high cholesterol rates just like the US! McDonald's forgot to add a few slabs of their greasy bacon to this unhealthy gultonous meal.
Are restaurants in Japan required to disclose the caloric content for foods sold?
Personally I don't know how anyone can eat that crap, dispite the so-called "lower" costs of the meal and the convenience of fast food. Dry, overcooked, precooked then zapped in a microwave hours after cooking (allows more time for all the fat to congeal), etc.
I'm not a vegetarian, health nut or food nazi; I've been known to consume many things not particularly good for me, but I have my limits and McDonald's, Burger King, etc is where I draw the line--never touch the stuff. Disgusting!!

nobody forces anybody to eat anything. if you don't want it, don't buy it, but don't blame companies because you have no self control. (just like that lady in the article who ate all 3 in one day - did anybody force her to do it - no, it was her choice.)

It's just like all the new razors. A razor with 6 blades, a hamburger with 6 patties.

How vile. McDonald's needs to go away. It's toxic.

It's not about whether people have a choice or not. There is simply nothing "good" about the product, what it does to the body or the environment. Unfortunately many people don't "think" about what they're putting in their mouths. Imagine a world with only integral food companies. lol...globesity might not exist.

McDonald's does have a couple of good things, and one great hamburger besides the cheeseburger. The Angus burger is fantastic. I am from the midwest so I know what a good hamburger should taste like, and most of the time, this one is great. I always order the Deluxe with the dark green lettuce, red onions, and tomatoes. The flavor tastes like it is just off the grill. I do not like any of their other hamburgers. I also like their grilled chicken salad with Caesar dressing...it is very very good.

Didn't the Japanese learn from the Americans? Our diet is terrible. On top of that, doctors are now saying that the newest upcoming generation in America, is going to be the first generation where life expectancy would be cut short because of both diet, and lack of exercise (always at the computer, etc.). Japanese in the next 10 years will start to catch up with us, and get many medical problems. Be careful....I hope the government steps us....

McDonalds " JUST NOW " did a 4 pattie burger????
Somebody had better check the menu at IN-N-OUT.
They have had 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, etc for a long time now.
If you order it they will make it, no matter the size.
And regardless what you say, the 4x4 at I-N-O is totally
decadent and DEEE-LICIOUS

MY WEEKLY EXTRAVAGANCE IS 2 DOUBLE CHEESEBURGERS, NO CHEESE PLEASE, (NO 'LECHE' IN LA) WITH EXTRA PICKLES...A GREAT MEAL. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FOR THE SAKE OF MY CHOLESTEROL IS NO CHEESE AND NO 'SECRET SAUCE' THAT IS THE CENTER OF A BIG-MAC. I ELLIMINATE OVER 45% OF THE FAT AND KEEP WHATEVER PROTEIN THE PADDYS CONTAIN. I'VE FOUND A LOT OF THE FAT IN FAST FOODS COMES FROM THE CHEESE OR "CHEESE SAUCE" AND THE CONDIMENTS THAT CONTAIN MAYONAISE. TRY IT...YOU WON'T BE RUNNING IN ANY MARATHONS SOON, BUT YOUR ARTERIES WILL THANK YOU.
