Hot surfer girls who play guitar are the best thing about summer. (At least, that's what we've learned from our parents' Beach Boys albums and DVD of "Beach Blanket Bingo.")

Singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman is the latest in that long and happy tradition -- the kind of girl who never stops talking about the ocean, but you don't mind because she's wearing a bikini.

Sadly, until now, we've never had enough mystical stuff to say about the sea to get anywhere with that type of woman. Luckily Tristan, whose second album of bluesy folk songs was released this week, has agreed to help us out.
