Geek girls in costume at Comic-Con? Maybe it's because some girls just love playing dress-up. Maybe it's the success of films like "Spider-Man"and "300." Or maybe when superheroes, geeks and comic books are all put together in one convention center, there's no way to keep the hotties away. Who knew you'd be able to find so many ladies who are easy on the eye -- the laser eye, that is -- at New York's Comic-Con convention? Could it be that inside every sexy woman lies the beating heart of a "Battlestar"-watching, Halo-playing, "X-Men"-reading über geek? (Ah, we wish.)
Women in costume. There's nothing better.
Babes of NYC Comic Con
Protecting the ladies of Comic Con from creepy geeks everywhere.
Playin' with the Queen of Hearts, indeed.
Evil -- maybe. All-over fishnet cheerleader outfit -- definitely.
Who cares if she draws comics or just appears in them. she's wearing a bikini and leather gloves -- that's all the evidence we need.
Pretty good, but will they be dating "Bizarro Jerry" from Seinfeld?
Not sure which comic book she's from, and not sure if we care.
OK, OK, even we have a limit for how much pleather and Noxema we can handle.
One woman's leftover Halloween costume is another's ComicCon gold.
We're not sure whether to be scared or turned on. Leaning towards scared.
Lois Lane -- the hottest journalist we've seen since spinning through our "hottest newscasters" gallery for the 40th time.
Costumes of Comic-Con
Check out a selection of some of the Con's best looks, and let your freak flag fly without actually having to mingle with the (disconcertingly) unwashed masses.
Best Costumes of NY Comic Con
We're not sure who this character is, but its safe to say he's Japanese.
Yep, it's a pyramid with a sword. Just another day at Comic Con.
He's just angry because there aren't any red and green lasers to dodge.
Run, before he makes you watch "AVP: Requiem!"
Kid, take our advice. Get into sports now and save yourself a lifetime of beatings.
Apparently the "no shirt, no service" policy is pretty lax at Comic Con.
This is either the guy from "V for Vendetta" or one of those creepy Scientology protesters.
This isn't the signing booth you're looking for.
Behold, what you see the moment before you die.
Hey, shouldn't Mario be at the parade for the Pope? You are a terrible Catholic, Mario.

#39. Is that Gilbert Gottfried as the Punisher? As bad as it sounds I would go see that movie.

To the guy who said too many fatties...
Luckly you're most likely in no immediate danger of getting involved with any of these ladies...or many/any others.

Wow. I'm pretty surprised these people didn't catch BelleChere... Next to Ruby Rocket, she's the best comic cosplayer out there.

You ever think those comments are the reason why women become annorexic or ballemic? Jesus, if we're not as skinny as a rail we're ugly or fat. Stop reading comics where every woman is drawn to "perfection", stop looking at magazines where every woman looks like they need a burger and look at REAL women around you! None of you would even stand a chance with ANY of them and would be laughed at if you even tried

Damn, lots of misogynists here. Not one of those women are fat or ugly. I'm not saying they should be in Playboy but they all look much better than most of you will admit. And what about you guys when you get fat and bald? Who are you to judge? I can't stand how some of you guys LOVE to degrade women, break them down, destroy their esteem, contribute to the whole phoney "must look perfect" belief that they fall into. Shame on you guys. As if you're God. John Lennon was right, Women are the n****rs of the world, thanks to the a$$hole guys of the world.

This is a message to all the jerks on here who apparently feel good enough for their pathetic selves to insult the lovely and talented costumers of NYCC, some of whom are my friends.
The way I see it, when someone begins leaving harsh comments out of pure spite and jealousy, then their opinion no longer has meaning.
None of you belong at a Con, where the majority accepts people for who they are and that we are all just geeks hanging out.
To the ladies of costuming, I fully support and salute you!

Some definetly need a diet before they go the skintight or show a lot of skin route.
But Harley Quinn, the 40's Lois Lane, and Zatanna definetly were first rate copies of the comic heroines we all know and admire.
I always enjoy how much people will put into these costumes and want more.

I was dressed as Zatanna on Saturday but I'm not the one pictured here. I love playing dress-up AND I love watching Battlestar and reading comics. :)

Most of the "Model-Quality babes" are not real geeks, they are paid to go to the cons in costume to promote a product or company. Lame
