It's not your imagination -- researchers have discovered that boring jobs can actually turn off your brain. According to a recent report, scientists have learned that doing monotonous tasks forces the brain to revert to a "rest mode" -- thereby increasing the chance of making mistakes.
The researchers now hope to find a way to continuously monitor brain signals and provide an alert when your noggin is on autopilot.
But because MRI Units are no fun to lug around, the team involved wants to strap the devices to your head, and despite the less-than-stylish design, the developers hope it could one day help airport security staff and other workers to stay focused.
If only the hat could alert airline employees to remedy their waning interest in helping travelers, then we might have something.

Maybe they can adapt this technology for drivers to tell them they are about to fall asleep before they fall asleep and prevent an accident. (It would probably cost a bundle) I know they have those ear devices that beep when your head dozes. But once that buzzer goes off it might just be too late!
