Miami doctors are prepping to remove a 16-pound growth from a Vietnamese girl's face. The 15-year-old is currently unable to eat or communicate without help, and it's feared the tumor would eventually suffocate her if it's not removed.
The procedure, scheduled for April 29, will take around ten hours. Doctors are hopeful the growth will not return.
But while it's safe to assume the teen will be quite pleased with her lighter head, the basketball-sized tumor will be far from the largest ever extracted. According to Guinness World Records, that proud distinction belongs to a woman who had a 302-pound growth removed in 1991 -- about the same size as an overweight male panda.
Now, who wouldn't love a husky panda attached to their body?
