College expands young minds in so many ways. It's the first time impressionable youths are allowed to have as much sugary cereal, beer and sex as they can stomach. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that salacious sex columns have sprung up like weeds in college newspapers across the nation. The columns allow sophomores who fancy themselves "sexperts" a chance to dispense advice on everything from S&M to STDs, much to the chagrin of parents, professors and alumni.
The recent book, "Boink: College Sex by the People Having It" inspired us to take a look at some of the most informative and titillating college sex columns from around the country.

I find it amusing that parents and alumni would reject to this. In Europe, those types of columns are there with graphic descriptions as well as pictures, and that's just in magazines for young teens. What's wrong with being well informed? Incidentally, in most European countries the teen birth rate is lower as well as the rates of abortion.

I have lived in Belgium for 6 years. Indeed Europeans are much more open about sex. French parents regularly send their young teen daughters to spend the night in their boyfriend's beds. As well, it is very, very common for couples to have children and never marry. My son's French teacher is having her 3rd out of wedlock child and has "educated" my son that marriage is quaint and completely out-dated idea. All of the studies show that children born to unmarried couples are more likely to end up in single parent households. As the child of a single mother, I know the pitfalls. I'll stick with more traditional values with my children. That said, I'll also make sure they have a thorough and open sex education so they can make good choices.

I don't look at too many of the comments by college students that shocking.
With that said the only problem I have with it is the perception & privacy of mindsets when it comes to sexual activities. There's just too much of a generational gap when it comes to the sex topic & whether or not you openly air your thoughts about it constantly. Part of it's insecurity that only yrs. of having good sex can separate those from who do & those just trying to get a rise from it discussing it all the time.
The bottom line to me as an older man is if it's such an open topic & especially new age women want to conquer men with their sexuality, why not just get off of it & make it legal? The amount of seeing "sex candy" all over the place likens more & more to "look, but don't touch" repeatedly. If the liberal mindset is here it is baby, then walk the walk instead of all the display measure "talk".... Organize it, put it where it belongs or shut the hell up, I get tired of the temptation!

It's about time that we move from the double standard, sexually into a more open mode. Fuck Administrations, on any level, they represent oppression that is the foundation of government, at every level. Change and cultural movement have a price and the price is self discovery, maturity and responsibility. The usual pillars of community are crumbling and now is the time to establish new ones that meet the current needs of society. Go for it!!!!!!!! Peace and love.

Take sex advice from a sophmore and your and idot, and I am sure the girls who think of themselves as hot,is only because any guy in college will hump anything, and forget about closing time ,way too many girls think there hot cause they get laid alot ,not true just means there ho's and the guy is gone in morning as fast as he can ,then she may wait for a call,or go have sex with another new guy to hr meanwhile its the guy from last night friend, buds tell buds ,chicks tell chicks, chicks always make thing better than they were ,a fact, and the still convince themselve there hot and not ho's,but any sompmore who is adding sex advice in a college paper ,is a ho,normal girl tell there friends ,ok,not the whole college, that chic is in denial, and trying to make thing better, and ego feel better, she is not a ho,who has sex for attention, sex is ses always will be something change somethings still the same after hundres of years.only real change has been the internet stealing the lives of youngsters ,way too much crap, and that 18 you can enter,if not you cant is a joke ,all people makeing screename should of had to prove,or parents prove age,at least scare them a bit that there parents may get an email your, son ge 12 was trying to enter known porn site, just the thought of having parent involed would have save kids, lives and inocence ,he porn co.would of had to check with a data base at there cost, they make enough, one easy thing that would have made database money, saved kids and porn site could write it off as tax refund, please excuse typo's or whatever, still onehandes until staplesr removed, sorry, porn people take it easy,I got kidsand parentcontrol were not around i the early years 2000,2001,,not much they did not even have warnings,it change youth sexualy, alot, you cant say,it did not

Man, it's like reading the end of western civilization on this blog. EVERYTHING has a consequence. The 60's should have proved that.

We are like the Roman Empire before it fell into the dark ages.
Since the 60's we have become a sexually obsessed nation that has lost all sense of right and wrong. I don't really care what the people in Europe do and I don't ever want this country to sink to the stinky level of Europe.

Well arent you a true American?

To Adam: I guess not accepting moral relativism like yourself is probabaly a bad thing to you. The "if it feels good do it" mentality has slowly been crumbling this country socially and culturally since the 60's. The implications have been huge such as a huge increase in STD rates, unwanted pregnancies etc. that go with this attitude that has become so prevalent. This costs the American taxpayers billions of dollars per year. Europe has been living with an "if it feels good do it mentality" for many years and it has taken the fight out of them and Europe will be under Sharia Law within 20 years.
This oversexed attitude this country has now has taken the fight out of us and we no longer have a sense of right and wrong. May be one day Adam when you grow up you will be able to make the connection between moral relativism and empires falling. Have a nice life Adam!!

Okay, so I learned at the sex party that the girls tried this gel that makes them either warm and wet or cold and tingly. But no one said what it is or where to get it? Help, Please.

there is nothing wrong with being open about sex! my mother and i are pretty open about it. and look, im 20 yrs and still a virgin...and proud of it...but temptation is always there waiting for me...fighting it everyday. parents need to be more open about sex with their children! it will help....speaking from experience. btw, saying that sex is a horrible thing sure does not help what-so-ever. just messes kids up mentally.

well, it could be something like the KY touch stuff (at walmart) or go to a place like Bizarre Bizarre (sex shop) you would definitely find what you're looking for.
