Pole dancing has gained popularity over the past few years as an aerobic activity, and dancing classes take place all over the world. And soon you (or, um, your girlfriend) will be able work on pole-dancing techniques in the comfort of your living room.U.K.-based pole maker Peekaboo and Nintendo are working on a game that will let users compete with pole-dancing moves.
"Peekaboo is pleased to confirm that it is in talks to develop a game for the Nintendo Wii that meets mainstream demand for the fun and fitness benefits of pole dancing," the company said in an e-mailed statement to ABC. "Peekaboo and its partners are focused on using Wii-friendly hardware to make aerobic pole dancing instantly accessible just as 'Guitar Hero' did for rock 'n' roll."
Question raised: Is it sleazy to invite a girl over to play "pole dancing," or is it just a really good pick-up line?

Uh..., everyone depends on everyone else to make money. Otherwise, there wouldn't be an economy.
Stripping is just another way to make money and it's not easy.
Some of my friends were/are strippers and they are now mostly lawyers or have other really good jobs who probably make more money than I will ever see.
Stripping is just taboo because for some reason (some religions probably) people think selling sex or anything to do with sex is bad. I have to disagree and I think it's sad when girls are frowned upon because of what they do.
And most of the strippers/former strippers I know don't do it because "they don't have a choice". They do it because it's just a job that pays good money and love what they do.
Did you also know over the past few years that pole dancing is now being promoted as a physical fitness activity? I'd like to see YOU flip around on a pole like strippers can. It takes a LOT of practice and skill to do some of the moves they do without falling on your ass.

I hope Amanda doesn't take the position that she won't have someone who has worked as a pole dancer, erotic dancer, or nude model to pay her way through school as her doctor, lawyer, or dentist, as if she does take that position she will eliminate a lot of the best and the brightest of the females in those occupations.
Amanda, just how do you think a young woman pays for college tuition, room, and board, and then medical school (or law school) tuition, room, and board? A very small number receive scholarships, grants, or fellowships, but many have to find part time jobs which will pay well enough to cover their school costs.
Yes, some medical and law students take out huge loans, but for quite a few erotic dancing or nude modeling pay the bills.
And yes, I know of some male doctors and attorneys who were male nude models or male dancers while in school, so it isn't just females.
Perhaps Amanda should visit the REAL world where clergymen molest children, hire prostitutes, are deadbeats, etc., and young women who work or pose nude are honest and don't screw around.

I think that if you need a videogame to simulate an actual stripper...you're an ass! First, they're almost all druggies or drunk all the time. Second, they're just into what you have in your wallet. Third, you really need to get a girl who will actually have sex with you. Not just leave you wanting because you're an ugly slob who can't get any without spending a fortune. Keep shelling out that money...It won't hurt their feelings. Not one bit!

Bleh, you want to pole dance get a frikkin pole.
As an ex stripper i can say no video game can even come close to what it takes to climb a 22ft pole and turn upside down without falling.
Also nearly all of the stippers i knew were just dumb druggie whores who's mommies had thier kids cause they didn't want to take responsibility.

i can see this pole dancing business as a game or real life (dancing kit u can buy at stores/onlline) as used for a fitness thing but if u do this pole dancing as a fitness but have the attitude as a stripper or just to spice up ur life in the bedroom then ur no good if i were interested in pole dancing i use it as a fitness sport in the privacy of my own bedroom sure hell not as a stripper. maybe pole dancing get these people to act slutty as hell to some may take the fitness to far but i have other sports i prefer to play that have respect for my body n myself

ehhh you know what they say about opinions and a-holes. lets just leave it at this for me: i, personally, wouldn't do it. i don't care if someone else does, though, it's not my life ..i will say, though that it is a rather "whore-ish" profession and, yes, you will get judged on it-no surprises there, stripper ladies and gents...since i don't personally know any strippers and i'm not one, i don't know if it's really a "just until i can get these bills paid and get out of college"sort of thing or if it's just a lazy man's way out slash my pride won't let me work @ mcdonalds(me, my pride won't let me be a stripper or work at the bunny ranch-although the bunny ranch seems fun lol) . (i think the later)...but it's so-and-so's life, not mine. so who am i to point fingers and judge?

I wouldn't work at the bunny ranch, but that would be fun!! How nieve are you? No, I think thats just stupidity... The bunny ranch is legalized prostitution... so you'd rather have sex with a man than show your body? wtf ever

As a guy who has worked in strip clubs for almost 40 yeas off and on, including four years as part owned of a club, I have to say that most of the strippers I know are bright intelligen women who use nude dancing as a means to an end. Many are dancing to finance their education, to help pay for their significant others education, to buy a house etc. It is true that some of them could not keep a regular job but this is a viable and much more rewarding alternative to welfare.
