Lovers of grilled cheese, rejoice! No longer is the sandwich confined to stifling restrictions of American cheese and whole wheat toast with the occasional slice of tomato and bacon.

The Grilled Cheese Invitational, a series of competitive culinary events recently held in Los Angeles, pushed the boundaries of sandwich-making as we know it.
