Get out your platform shoes and fringed jacket and get ready to spark up your lighter. The new Brian Eno-produced Coldplay single "Violet Hill" dropped today and will undoubtedly be gracing CW soundtracks for the next year or so.
Eno brings his burbling synthesizer, and Chris Martin pounds away at the piano on the ballad that harks back to the soaring pop of ELO.
The first single from Coldplay's upcoming album, "Viva La Vida," is also available as a free download from the band's website for one week (and if you live in England, NME is giving away a free vinyl single).
