Do you spend eight hours a day tapping sweet nothings into a computer keyboard? There's a good chance your fingers are covered with all kinds of bacteria -- including E. coli and staph -- according to a British researcher.British microbiologist James Francis tested 33 keyboards at the London office of a consumer advocacy group (as well as a toilet seat and a toilet door handle) and found that four keyboards were potential health hazards, while one had five times the level of germs found on the toilet seat.
The findings aren't scientifically applicable, as the one office isn't a large enough sampling, but they add to recent research that suggests we're in contact with a lot of potentially dangerous germs every day.
Is this a valid reason to avoid going to the office? Probably not. But should you liberally apply the Purel after a co-worker spends some time at your desk? Not a bad idea.

If you can't see them, why worry about it? Out of sight, out of mind.
