Could any aphrodisiac be so good it's worth dying for? A man in New York has gone to that great orgy in the sky after apparently overdosing on a rare frog venom thought to have aphrodisiac qualities. The substance (banned by the Food and Drug Administration) is sold under the names as Piedra, Love Stone, Jamaican Stone, Black Stone and Chinese Rock at sex shops and neighborhood stores.
Available as a hard, dark brown square less than a square inch, its active ingredients come from from toad venom and various trees. Use of the product can disrupt the normal rhythm of the heart -- particularly when ingested -- and can even cause chest and abdominal pain and vomiting when applied to the skin (the normal use).
Police are combing the city to alert store owners to take it off their shelves, but it's still readily available in many places and over the Internet.
Questions Raised: Have you ever used an aphrodisiac that worked?
