It's my firm belief that 2 mediocre to average looking people make the most attractive babies. My daughter is the best example. I have a healthy self-esteem, don't get me wrong, but I'm not in denial either.
My theory makes me worry a little bit about Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, and especially the new arrival from Cash Warren and Jessica Alba. Really gorgeous parents often equals kinda ugly offspring. I don't have any scientific research to back that up, mind you. LOL.

Oh come on!!! Get real..Take a good look under all of the layers of makeup and hair extensions and plastic surgury and you will see the looks match. I mean take Gwyneth Paltrow for example. She is as ugly as sin and she gets awy with being called a babe??? She looks just like her ugly father with blonde stringy hair. You are showing pictures of FATHERS who are 20-40 years older than the daughters with whom they are being compared, and asking, "How on earth could they produce such beautiful offspring?" Even though it is amusing and enjoyable, the whole premise of this photo essay is thereby EXTREMELY FLAWED.
If you really want to compare daughters to their fathers, then how about collecting pictures of the FATHERS at the SAME AGE AS THE DAUGHTERS ARE IN THEIR PICTURES! THEN, and ONLY THEN, will you have an accurate comparison of "How in the world did this dad produce this gorgeous daughter?" I guarantee you that the dads looked TOTALLY AWESOME in their younger days, and it would make a fantastic photo essay. Put the picture of the daughter next to the picture of the YOUNG DAD and see if you're still asking " What does the milkman look like?" ( That was really funny, by the way.)
You have the resources to do this....how about a follow up piece? That would be so much fun !

I totally agree with you. Also look at the fathers when they were young and you may find that the fathers outlook their daughters (without makeup). I really do not think some of the girls you showed are that pretty anyway.

I think the word 'shallow' that you used in your comments more aptly refers to you, Bonnie. First of all, we have enough stresses in our world without having to worry about being put on YOUR ugly list. Second, I guess you people consider anything fair game, but have you no shame in calling people ugly? Third, great looks or not - these people have made it big in some way - ever hear the term "don't judge a book by its cover"? Do these children need to hear that YOU think their fathers are ugly? Last, your taste is up your ass, because half these men are, or were very good looking. You must be a twenty something shallow little brat not to see that!
