(Our happy hour fact to amaze your drinking buddies with.)

In 1990, there were 5,772 reported golf cart-related injuries. By 2006, that number had jumped to 13,441.

Researchers credit the increasing popularity of the golf cart as a means of transportation as well as kits designed to soup up factory models for causing the trend.

About 40 percent of the injuries were linked to riders falling out or jumping from their carts.

For safety's sake, we suggest that those who can injure themselves eating a pretzel should probably let someone else drive.
