Here at Asylum, we've long been fans of all things that go topless in the summer: convertibles, domed stadiums, PETA protesters and other naked activists. One such activist in Ashland, OR, who is often seen riding around on her bicycle topless, has said that she's planning to attend her town's annual Fourth of July parade wearing only a G-string made out of hemp. The Chamber of Commerce has said the plan is against the rules since the parade is a family celebration. But Jen Moss says if they bar her from the festivities, she'll sue for her right to rock out with her boobs out.
Despite the parade's family-friendly rules, the town has fairly lax nudity laws that actually allow for public toplessness. The only stipulation is that citizens are required to cover their genitalia in a city park or the downtown commercial district.
On Moss' side is City Council member Eric Navickas, who said it was "an interesting commentary on our society that we're willing to tolerate dead bodies through our aggressive foreign policy from the war, but not healthy, naked bodies."

She probably lost her home to forclosure, her job terminated and sent overseas, her credit cards taken away, she's out of gas and needs her bike, her house either burnt down or is floating down the Mississippi with her clothes in it, the taxman got her last dollar, what else is there to take? The real question is: Who won't be running around naked by the Fourth of July?

No she is just another Ashland freak...I live here, I know what Ashland is like. What puzzles me is that the city is giving this so much attention but they have no problem with parade participants throwing out condoms instead of candy. Ashland is a bunch of freaks and so is their parade.

PS: The rainbow bumper stickers that say "Tolerate Diversity" ae big in Ashland. People in neighboring towns have bumper stickers that say "Tolerate Ashland"

Dose she need attention or what? If the law allows you to show everything, than what is left for the imagination?

Who won't be running around naked? George Bush and Dick-head Channy, and their oil mogul buddies, that's who.

When I read about frivoulous law suits like this one, it really burns my butt. I had my vocal cord paralyzed in May 2007. It was done by routine surgery to check a spot on my lung. My job is talking to people. There was absolutley nothing I could do about what happened. Even though it changed my life like you would not believe. Not even Met-Life who I have accidental death and Dismemberment through would honor my claim....I work for a National Bank and have been there for 35 years. Now if I were to lose my job (which many banks including my own) are laying their associates off, I will be up the creek. Who would hire someone whose voice is so soft you have to really pay attention when I talk. Who choakes when drinking water? Suing the doctor is not an option and to be truthful, I didn't want to....but Met-life...I am still trying to get them to change their mind. I have been paying the premium on that policy for years. So when I read about law suits that are so stupid I just want to throttle the person and say to them....get real! We're all sick of these kinds of suits.

I have always felt women have the same right as men to go shirtless. I would love to be able to mow the lawn, sit at the beach, or just releax on a hot summer day without having to wear a shirt. What IS the big deal??? As a side note, there are some MEN who should not be allowed to go shirtless! LOL

No offense, but I have a hard enough time with out of shape men taking off their shirts. I don't want to see ANY of it. I live in TX, it's hot, I wish the guys walking down the street would keep it covered. If I'm not at the pool, I shouldn't have to see man boobs.

My problem with letting it all hang out is I'm so busty that it is uncomfortable to wander around and feel my breasts bounce around. As for Ashland and its freaks, I've been there and seen the mess that city is in. For the City Council member, Mr. Navickas to make a political statement regarding propriety in a family oriented parade, that should tell you about the layout of the town's mindset. I wonder how much dope he's smoking these days.

My wife Terri has gone a step further...she DOES sit outside by our pool, or helps mow the lawn topless. And as you stated, what is the problem? We have both written to a website known as braless as well. People are too hung up in this country. We can have women in the military, run for President, but they can't remove their tops like men! PLEASE
Let's keep the fight, enough people hear about how unfair this country is with regard to topless women, things WILL change.,

The guy said " but not healthy, naked bodies." It's not them that bother me. It's the old over weight fart's like me that I don't want to see. "giggles"

What a nut job! Just because you "can" doesn't mean you should.......I mean come on,,,this is a FAMILY event....and there will be children there.....it seems as if people don't care about anything or anyone so long as they can do whatever they want....this is just SAD.

But you wouldn't mind if men were topless there. The only reason you or your kids would react to a topless woman is because you have been taught to. It is a total double standard. If you taught your kids that to see a womans big toe was a bid deal sexually. When your kids got older they would have sexual feelings when ever they saw a womens big toe. This is a prejudice against women taught by society. Just like when American society taught that Black people were inferior and white people shouldn't mingle with them. This is the same thing. I can tell by your attitude against women being topless, that you are a conformist that goes along with ignorance taught by an ignorant society. 70 years ago you would have complained because a Black woman wanted to be at the parade or whatever, and this is a family event and you don't want that savage there corrupting your childs mind. Open your eyes and heart and treat people fairly, not the way ignorance has taught.

A Family event....Kids who are naturally brest fed know what breasts look like and what they are for . Let's get our so called moral thinking minds out of our annus. It's the human body.....there is nothing wrong with exposure that a little sunscreen won't cure

Kids don't have to be "taught" to be modest. Around four years old, they naturally want to cover up, unless it's drummed into them to "run free and naked." Been there, seen that.
