It seems Patrick Swayze may be trying to live up to the badass-itude of James Dalton, his alter ego from "Road House," who mutters the famously perplexing line, "Pain don't hurt." Despite having pancreatic cancer, the 55-year-old actor will play the lead role in the upcoming A&E detective series "The Beast, set to premiere in early 2009.
Meanwhile, to show support for the ailing tough guy, a Los Angelino named Chris Cantey had rubber Swayze bracelets made up. The fluorescent green accessories are $10 and a portion of the proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Fund.
Cantey told Asylum that "Point Break" was the main reason he felt compelled to support Swayze, but he also mentioned that he is a fan of "Dirty Dancing." This is evidenced by Cantey's Web site's declaration that "Nobody puts Swayze in a corner!"
