Today's Crush -- Maria Sharapova's Shorts

We're passionate Wimbledon fans here at Asylum. It's not so much for the tennis, but mostly because we enjoy the eye-catching women who populate the sport.

Queen among those is Maria Sharapova, the Russian-born (and American accented) blonde who won the tournament in 2004. Unfortunately, a disappointing showing at the French Open earlier this summer, followed by today's second-round defeat on the grass at Wimbledon, means we haven't gotten to see nearly enough of her.

To help keep her in your mind's eye, we collected some Sharapova pics from her first-round match at Wimbledon. Let us know what you think. Perhaps your support will raise her spirits for the U.S. Open in August.

#1 at Wimbledon you MUST wear white... so the comment of all the bright colors worn by the Williams??? Maria wears hot pink, black, blue... where have you been?

I think the Tux thing is not working for her... she hunches her shoulders & holds them up near her ears, which brings more attention to here broad shoulders... looks kinda dudish

more respect? Maria doesn't even look her challengers in the eye when they do the handshake and she rarely looks at the kids seeking her autograph. She looks insulted when she's losing, and storms of the court... thats class? She needs to go to charm school.

Where's the patriotism to "America", I know we wouldn't want to be unpatriotic would we, go Serena and Venus. It shouldn't be hard to watch winners on and off the courts.

To the blog, she seemed to have difficulty with the outfit and even more with her opponent. Good luck to her just the same.
