Some of the network's best stuff are their documentary series, and one that particularly blew our minds (and thoroughly freaked us out) was about a Colombian drug called scopolamine. For those who haven't heard, it's some pretty frightening stuff.
Check out part two of Colombian Devil's Breath after the jump.
For those interested in drug use (not that we're saying you are) consider this next piece.
While many experts, including Asylum's resident physician, say smoking weed stunts your mental faculties, the amount of creativity stoners put into building bongs is still pretty impressive. Pipes built to look like the Starship Enterprise, fashioned out of fresh apples or built right into a gas mask are just a few examples of the ingenuity unleashed by the munchies.
Of course, like our local head shop, we don't recommend using this equipment for anything other than tobacco.
But as April 20 ("4/20") approaches, at least take a spin through some of the most impressive pipes that smokers have come up with through the years.

PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW THIS,BUT SCOPOLOMINE WAS USED DURING DELIVERIES OF BABIES IN THE 40'S THRU THE EARLY 6O'S.IT USED TO MAKE THE MOTHERS GO OFF THE WALL,ALTHOUGH THEY HAD NO MEMORY OF IT.THE DO STILL HOWEVER USE IT FOR MOTION SICKNESS.AS WITH ANY DRUG,PEOPLE ALWAYS FIND NEW WAYS TO ABUSE IT.IF IT WAS USED THE PROPER WAY,IT WOULD NOT BE DANGEROUS.

Isn't scopolamine one of the drugs used by voodoo practitioners to produce 'zombies'?

Who is profitting from the so called war on drugs?
Is there a secret alliance between some government people and the drug cartels?
There's lot of bloody stuff going on at the Mexican border. The drug cartels are simply supplying a demand that a lot of Americanos crave.
If Americans are smart, and there seems to be some doubt about that, the government itself should get into the illicit drug program. Think how much money it could make and also control at the same time.

You don't know what beautiful country you are missing!! It's all about how you take care of yourself there, if you are not careful, then it can be dangerous but not any more dangerous then going to Rome or New York. Just do your research before going.

i guess we were smart back in the 60's and 70's. we made bongs out of flight mask too. the easiest were made from toilet paper rolls and aluminum foil. but back to the 2000'3. there will be a shortage on motion sickness medicine now that this aired.

Scopolamine?
Dangerous?
Hardly
This sounds like something that FAUX NEWS would report on, followed by another rant from Bill Oh Really.
It's been around for decades as Datura, no big deal.
I drank it as a tea 40+ years ago.
Didn't do much except give me double vision.
I think it's also the active ingredient in Jimpsonweed

This drug has been used in the medical profession for over 50 yr.

OMG does anyone have a brain?! Can anyone see the harm in this drug? Yes, with drugs moderation is key, and the experience is unique and eye opening. It is incredible. But how incredible is it to go out and wake up to an empty bank account. How amazing is it to go out and wake up naked and violated. Too many people have experienced these things already, but the fact that this drug runs rampant is scary. Do we need something else to make us completely lose control? Unlike cocaine, or bars, or x, or acid, or meth, people under the influence of this drug do not know they are under the influence. They have absolutely NO self control, yet they seem completely normal. It makes it impossible for onlookers to intervene and possibly prevent something horrible from happening. But even worse is that one gram of this (density of coke) has the power to KILL 10-15 people. And for those interested in taking advantage, it's easy to get a victim. A person can be drugged simply by inhaling it. NOT snorting through a straw, or eating it or smoking it. Simply by breathing it in off a piece of paper or being blown on. Think about the damage this can do in the wrong hands. I'm not talking about robbery or rape. I'm talking about biological warfare: killing entire cities with the use of air vents, or an air plane, or walking through crowded streets. This drug has been around for years and it has been kept quiet. Yes knowledge of this "perfect" date rape drug is good because now people have been warned. But media coverage of this makes this drug’s location, power, and potential known. Think about the people who are going to learn about this. Do we really even want the media to tell us about this? The “innocent” learn its power, but so does everyone else. Arguing about the drug’s time of origin is useless? What we should really worry about is making sure this drug stays out of the wrong hands. And don’t think I’m saying get all drugs off the streets, because believe me, you’re talking to the wrong person.

Scopolamine. CIA, MKUltra, LSD, Big Brother, Dinosaurs, Unemployment, Conspiracies, blah, blah, blah, bullshxt. The mere fact that the general public has any knowledge of governmental use of such substances should reveal the fact that 1. its value as a diversion/propaganda is as great as its "classified" use or 2. the government really just doesn't care if the average no money, no power citizen knows to begin with. Now wake up and smell the remainder of your dismal life. Thank God there is a heaven.

I cannot believe people are talking about this when britney has a sex tape pending release. If I had the tape I would sit on it until the time was most ripe -- patiently wait till she's topping the news, once again. I'd then sell it to the top bidder. In the mean time I'd only screen it at private parties where I'd give a play by play narration of the action.

Always something. There is another drug called "Sativa" that is now being banned in most states even though I have not heard any proof that it is bad for you. If the gov't. can't control it and tax it to get their share they will make it illeagal. Not condoning drugs but this is just the way it seems so "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!!!!" ~ Dutch
