We rarely go paintballing, mostly because we tend to avoid situations where participants can be shot, non-lethally or otherwise. But after learning about Evolution Model Technologies' Paintball Sentry Turret, we're starting to think the sport might be worth reconsidering. The Sentry shoots up to 30 rounds per second, and can be operated and targeted via a wireless remote. Meanwhile, it not only enables you to tag the enemy team until they look like a Jackson Pollack canvas, but it also allows you to watch the onslaught using the built-in camera, or through customizations including night vision and thermal vision scopes.
We've already starting saving toward the $1,400 price tag, as well as for a reinforced concrete bunker just in case our opponent buys one, too. [via Uncrate]

Personally, I think that this could be used as a security system, under certain conditions. Though, common sense would require that, for civilian home uses, it be limited to emergencies.
