At 41, American Dara Torres will become the oldest Olympic swimmer ever, though she's still more than three decades younger than Oscar Swahn, who medaled in shooting at age 72.

Swahn
was 60 years old when he won his first Olympic gold medal in the running deer single-shot event in 1908. After World War I, the Swede returned to the Olympics at the age of 72, and won a silver medal in the running deer double-shot team event.

For those who don't remember the running deer event, it involved a moving deer-shaped target, which made 10 runs of 75 feet at a distance of 110 yards with the shooter firing one shot during each run.

Though Swahn's was a great achievement, we have to admit we were a little bummed to find out they didn't use real deer.
