"The Dark Knight" is sure to be amazing and all, but there's one nagging issue surrounding the film: Where's Robin? For some reason, the Boy Wonder has been banished from director Christopher Nolan's Gotham. We suspect the filmmaker's worry is that the inclusion of young Robin might dredge up long-standing questions about the nature of the crime fighters' relationship.
Since we're big supporters of homosexual superheroes celebrating their lifestyle, we collected a sampling of art -- from fans and DC comic books -- depicting the Dynamic Duo's secret love.

Outside of the usual entertainment media, the consensus from the general public is that this new movie is a plotless, terribly acted rip-off waste of money and 3 hours of your viewing life, so that tells me I should keep hold of my cash and wait for something else better to come along. No contest.

So I suppose if the "publics general consensus" were to recommended that you find a slow and painful way to remove your genetics from this planet to prevent the spread of such ignorance, might you do so as well? Nice going not bothering to have a mind or an opinion of your own, and as if that wasn't enough- good move on being too lazy to even bother finding out for yourself. God forbid you might actually find a way to pull your head out of your nether-regions long enough to enjoy yourself for a few hours *gasp* and forget about the pathetic existence in which you thrive. Lots of luck to you.

the movie was amazing, one of the best batman movies i've seen in a while. the one with jack Nicholson playing the joker was the best by the way. the movie was action packed and had a great moral undertone that explored the idea of human nature in the bound society in which we live. the best part was when the joker was trying to get the two ships to blow one another up because at that point you felt like you were on the boat with the civilians. it made you question what you would have done... the movie has alot to offer in the way of cinematic affect as well as being a neat analysis of society (just as the original comic books were)... also, maybe i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure batman was never played out as being gay. There were people who wanted him to be gay, but the authors as far back as I can tell never intended batman to be gay or considered gay. The relationship between the batman and robin could be considered homosexual only because of our societies misunderstanding of the bond men often share when going through war or warlike situations... not sure though. also robin was generaly disliked because he didn't fit into the sotry well (he clashed far too much with idea of the batman).... so anyway, don;t judge the movie because you Perceive that it is in someway anti -homosexual, its not, just watch it and enjoy it.

hahaha you idiot, that's BS... i'm gonna go ahead and say that 80% of people who've seen the movie think it's pretty great. also, if you or the people you associate with are too stupid to see a plot, which is pretty obvious by the way, that doesn't mean there isn't one... the plot is right there (in fact you could say that it was too obvious). you're just one of those people who gets joy out of changing the way you act in order to be different. thereby defying you're actual existence simply by basing you're own opinions off of what others like or don't like. a word of advise: don't think about others, like what you like, don't like what you don't like. be firm yet open in your beliefs. and when you have an opinion, don't try to hide it by using phrases like "everyone", or "most people".

I think you're way wrong and digging into it too deep. The simple answer is that Robin wasn't an important character...it makes no difference if he's in the story or not.

No, the film is great, acting is great, but its is rather dark. Ledger is awesome.

Says the articlist: "Since we're big supporters of homosexual superheroes celebrating their lifestyle...." Could have just stopped at "homosexual" and added "ity" at the end. But, yeah, obviously at least the articlist is a "big supporter of homosexuality and like many such is trying to force it into where it not is and trying to rub the rest of our faces into it. Makes me want to vomit!

I think the whole Batman & Robin thing isn't done in the most recent movies mostly because the last time they did it, the franchise fell apart. As for the homosexual undertones...well all the examples posted were from a different time. This was before the nation was PC and back when Michael Jackson was still black...maybe not even born yet. I always thought Robin was given a bad wrap (probably because of his character's portrayal in the 60's TV show). Anyone who actually reads the comics and isn't a fairweather fan can see that Robin is a close paralell to Batman. Both had parents taken from them at a young age. I think it's funny that people look over the whole mentor/apprentice relationship and feel more comfterble just calling them gay...even if they're only fictional. Thats the difference between now and when these books first came out...us. This is just like Bert & Ernie all over again...except Bert & Ernie bathe together. Batman & Robin solve crimes and lock up bad guys. Who's the real villain here? The rubber ducky!

I was anxious to see the movie until the Wall Street Journal depicted it as a metaphor for George W. Bush, a Crime Fighter who bent the rules. Yeeech.

Yeah....unhuh. As much as we all love the thrill of it all... Come now really. This is just silly. If they are or aren't who cares? It's as bad as rowling saying dumbledore was gay...uh....So?
And this is from a gay fellow. As if it matters.
