C'mon Barbie, Let's Go Party -- In Your Dungeon?

Barbie's always been the girl-next-door type. The cheerleader, prom queen or farmer's daughter you'd bring home to meet your folks. Definitely not the kind of girl you would want to dominate you with nipple clamps.

That's probably why people are up in arms about Mattel's new "Black Canary Barbie," which comes equipped with fishnets, a motorcycle jacket, black gloves and boots. Protesters claim the doll looks like she's sporting an S&M outfit, and are looking to block its September release.

Though Mattel claims the new Barbie is modeled after the DC comic superhero Black Canary, a U.K. religious group Christian Voice said: "Barbie has always been on the tarty side and this is taking it too far. A children's doll in sexually suggestive clothing is irresponsible -- it's filth."

Questions Raised: Should Mattel further infuriate protesters by creating Ball-Gag Ken?

I have a pretty good collection of Barbies' and I will definately add this one to it. It is reality part of life. If you don't like it don't buy it. I am a very hard working person, and I own a Harley, I've also owned a strip club. I don't see anything wrong with this doll... As History goes thru life, Barbie has been there every step of the way. Why Not add this part of life It would be cool to have Ken come out as a model of bruce wayne,)Or better yet have Ken come out as Kid

Oh please, if kids think that the Black Canary Barbie is a sexual thing then parents are obviously not monitoring their kids. Heck! The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was "Finally! A gothic Barbie!". But because Barbie is well-respected, dominatrices didn't even come to mind until I read further down. And instead of Barbie dominating Ken I'd prefer to see her dominating Blane.
