We love fish and we love ice cream, but that doesn't mean we want to mix 'em into a tasty cod-pop. Much like fishsicles, helping the homeless and sexy, sexy stripteases are two worthy and noble causes that don't really go together.

Perhaps that's why the National Network For Youth (NN4NY) has decided to sever ties with Virgin Mobile's Strip2Clothe campaign, in which young people were asked to post videos of themselves doing their best Elizabeth Berkley impersonations by stripping down to music. In turn, clothing companies would donate new clothes to homeless youth based on the number of video views.

Strangely, some people found this association inappropriate. Rebecca Lentz, a spokeswoman for Catholic Charities says, "The campaign ... exploits sex to help a population that is frequently exploited by sex to meet their basic needs of food and shelter."

"The campaign came with a lot of controversy, and we were supportive in Virgin Mobile's effort to raise awareness for homeless youth," said Vicki Wagner, CEO of NN4Y. "At the same time, we have to be sensitive to the needs of our members."

Even our very sensitive members can't help but think this was a good call.
