Dena Clark, coach of the CFL's Blue Bombers cheerleading squad, has resigned on the heels of a recent scandal involving salacious photos of some former team members. This news, along with the 11 newly released pictures we added to our gallery courtesy of Don Chavez, got us thinking about the long and storied history of the cheerleading scandal.
We're not counting murderous moms or anything involving underage girls. No, we're interested in the so-called "racy pics" scandals in which adult women appear in photos drunk, making out with other women or wearing outfits skimpier than their official team uniforms.
Of course, it's not up to us to judge what makes a scandal. We're just here to present the photographic evidence.
A History of Cheerleading Scandals
The ASU Scandal When photos of these six Arizona State University cheerleaders in their underwear surfaced in May, Arizona State University cut their entire cheerleading program.

The Indiana U Scandal Nude photos of this Indiana University cheerleader were either stolen from her hard drive, or posted online by an ex-boyfriend, depending in whose story you believe. According to the girl's mother, she was consequently harassed so much that she had to leave Indiana for California.

The OCC Dancers ScandalThe Orange Coast College dancers, after nine consecutive championships, were shamed by released pictures showing nipple piercings, girl-girl kissing and nudity.

What about the Denver Broncos Pony Express?
Several Broncos cheerleaders were caught rolling a guy outside a bar in Denver. They thought he had passed out from drinking too much so they took his wallet. It was all on videotape by the way.
Only problem was, the drunk was an undercover policeman involved in a sting operation to stop just this sort of thing!

If you can't spell stupid, you are stupid. Being a cheerleader in school is different from doing it pro. My best friend has a cheerleader and they require you to always wear makeup, always be very unnaturally tan, and other ridiculous things like not chew gum. EVER! These are in thier contracts too. To top it off you only get paid like $5.50 an hour. It cost more than it pays. The girls dont eat for days before weigh ins...

I have known cheerleaders and been friends with cheerleaders. It's only a few who do these stupid things. To label all cheerleaders like that. Is pretty stupid. These gals who did that would have done it whether they were cheerleaders or no. These gals go through hell to become a professional cheerleader. They used to have a show about gals trying to be dallas cheerleaders. It's hell. Don't label them all for the acts of these trashy few.

Do not even know why this is a sport in the first place, I believe girls do it just so they can feel cute and prissy...join gymnastics or a dance studio. It is also my opionion it is done for attention of the wrong kind..Grow up girls! Better things in life than jumping up and down in little outfits saying dumb cheers,.. so high school. Join a real sport! However,not all girls behave like the ones in the pictures. Why would anyone want to do that for $5.50 an hour..Please..you can make more money working at Hooters.

i think the double standard sux. sure maybe some cheerleaders arent bright and maybe attention seeking bimbos. but not all of them and the guys on the teams thay cheer do much worse stuff then i have seen written about these cheerleaders.

like dude I'm a cheerleader, and just because I wear a skirt as my uniform and I'm not kicking, throwing or catching a stupid ball doesn't mean I don't participate in a real sport. Cheerleading is one of the most hard core sports out there. It takes gruling practices to get your jumps high, get your cheers down PERFECTLY, create school spirit posters and spirit rolls, and successfully pull off stunts. I don't see football players flying, but I do see cheerleaders and yet I am constantly told that I do not participate in a real sport. I would love to trade a sport with another girl who plays volleyball or track and show them that cheerleading isn't just about jumping up and down and showing your spankies it's ALOT more challenging than that. So before you judge cheerleaders go to your school and tryout for the squad and see how hard it is to TRULY be a cheerleader.
