U.S. paper money contains higher trace levels of cocaine than any other world currency.Chemists found that the average U.S. bill has between 2.9 and 28.8 micrograms of cocaine on its surface. Meanwhile, the study showed that Spanish money has the highest trace amounts among European nations.
This doesn't mean the average bill was handled by a cocaine user. Traces of the drug can spread easily from bill to bill in devices like ATMs and bank counting machines. However, the numbers do suggest that Americans love cocaine.
So, if you're scoring at home, fill in the U.S. for both the fattest and the most coked up nation on Earth. Given coke's appetite-suppressing qualities, it sounds as though we're just not getting enough cocaine to the right people.
By the way, OD'ing on cocaine does not qualify as an interesting way to die. Check out some crazy ways people actually kicked after the jump.

The cocaine gets on the money because some users roll the bill tightly and use it as a straw to snort

Nobody's getting the real picture here. The cocaine problem is an EPIDEMIC. The drug cartels (mostly South American.. where Coca is grown) have a stranglehold on the world drug users. Most users of Cocaine think of it as "Recreational"... WRONG! It's as bad as Heroin for ruining lives and futures of it's users and abusers. Come down on them and make Cocaine "Socially Unacceptable". All monies worldwide are tainted with the crap. It's time for the US to really enforce and protect our borders from this and other scourges instead of their lame dog and pony show (let's use some of that Iraq money for our own good). If they can't stop cocaine, what are they going to do about protecting us from a smuggled terrorist A-BOMB!

This writer is an A**. The article is very offensive toward heavy people, by implying maybe if we gave them coke they wouldn't be fat. That is just a good idea, because coke adicts are much more pretty to look/deal with than obese people??? Give me a break!! Also this writer thinks all fat people are heavy from eating to much, not true! There several medical conditions out there in which a thin to normal person can gain tens of pounds within months and if they quit their meds that make them gain weight they will die. So next time you see someone who is overweight, don't judge and for god sake don't offer them your cocaine!
