By the year 2020, the United States Army is planning on having 30 percent of its forces made up of robots. The term robot means "everything from self-driving trucks up to what you would conventionally think of as a robot," explained Bill Smart, a military expert at Washington University.
Under current military policy, every robot is tele-operated by a human, but that isn't stopping the army from pouring resources into developing vehicles that would run autonomously.
Meanwhile, in South Korea, the military is working on a robot solider that has the ability to fire on its own initiative.
We assume none of the developers have seen a movie set in the future or they would have already aborted this terrifying project.
