If you had been taking an early morning stroll in Lower Manhattan 34 years ago today, you wouldn't have believed your eyes. At approximately 7:15 a.m., French high-wire walker Philippe Petit stepped out on a cable strung between the World Trade Center towers and performed for a breathtaking 45 minutes.

James Marsh's new documentary "Man on Wire" marvels at the madness of Petit's historic (and highly illegal) walk, from the planning to the cast of characters needed to pull off the stunt. Unfortunately, it leaves one question unanswered: How did Petit keep his balance with such enormous balls? Check out the trailer below.
