Animal sex -- Did you know that a banana slug's penis is typically as long as its body ... and located on the side of its head? If there is one thing to be learned from the Museum of Sex's new exhibit, "The Sex Lives of Animals," it's that when it comes to animal sex, there are very few rules -- animals switch genders, some males give birth, some females have penises and lifelong monogamy is very rare. And even if you're not interested in reading all the plaques, for the New York museum's $14.50 entrance fee, you can still observe more animal humping than at the dog park on Sunday. While some animal sexual behaviors may seem surprising, others will appear all too familiar. For instance, male macaques will forfeit their snacks in exchange for viewing photographs of the genitalia and posteriors of female macaques. At least that's one way humans are superior -- we can have our Cheez Doodles and our porn.
Get a sneak peek into the exhibit below.

Velvet Monkeys are most easily recognized for their bright turquoise scrotum and red penis. The color of he scrotum lightens if the individual's social rank drops.

The female spotted hyena has a penis-like appendage complete with erectile tissue. Both the urethra and the birth canal are buried in the center of this structure, and the female spotted hyena gives birth by discharging a baby hyena from the end of her "penis."

The genitalia of the female bonobo is one of the most conspicuous parts of her anatomy. Genital engorgement, typically an indicator of estrus in other primates, is present at all times in female bonobos. This physical attribute is linked to the high frequency of sexual encounters, independent of fertile periods.

Masturbation has been widely documented in primates. Many have been observed using natural materials such as stone, roots, and fruit as well as objects found in captivity to stimulate their genitalia.

Animals, like people, have non-genital erogenous zones. Bonobos manipulate each other's nipples for pleasure.

Occasionally, younger males will mount older bucks, who can be differentiated by the size of their antlers. In some cases, group mounting is exhibited.
