The regulation Speedo one-piece used by Olympic swimmers may not be the sexiest bathing suit we've ever seen, but it's fascinatingly high-tech. The latest model, the LZR Racer, was designed with input from NASA, and the weeks after its release saw 13 new world records set in swimming.

So when word came that the controversial polyurethane suit had been approved for use in the Beijing games, Playboy.com decided to showcase the technologically advanced swimwear the best way they know how -- by squeezing one onto a hot model. (The bunny took almost 30 minutes to get into hers, as also is the case for professional swimmers.)

The slideshow features models wearing Speedo's official Olympic swimsuits dating back to the '88 games in Seoul and leading up to the newest suits, which happen to be the only pieces of fabric we're more impressed with than the G-string.
