The art of the wedgie has ancient roots. Most historians believe that fabric was first yanked up a butt crack almost immediately following the advent of underpants. Meanwhile, some noted scholars argue that the first wedgie may have been exacted long before that, around the time crotches began to be sewed into loincloths.

No matter where you come down on this debate, you most likely possess a fear of the wedgie that was instilled at an early age. Be it from a sibling, a parent or anyone else you mistakenly thought you could trust, we all learn at some point to watch those lurking around our waistbands.
