Sometimes facial hair is not meant to be a bombastic statement declaring your masculinity. Instead, it can be the mere suggestion of facial follicles, subtly providing masculinity's essence. The epitome of this sort of scruff is the pencil-thin mustache.

Though it's currently not the most popular style, we can't help but respect those who've rocked a pencil-thin from cult movie director John Waters to surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
