American swimmer Dara Torres, the 12-time Olympic medalist who won three silver medals in Beijing, garnered attention outside of the pool this weekend as a model at New York's Fashion Week. The 41-year-old Torres walked the runway at a Chelsea studio on Sunday, modeling two looks from designer Charles Nolan's spring collection. During her first walk, she wore a striped tank top and swim shorts while carrying her 2-year-old daughter, Tessa. For her second walk, she sported a black jersey and taffeta dress.
"There was a girl (modeling) who said that she was really nervous and I said, 'Swimming in the Olympics is much more nerve-wracking,'" exclaimed Torres.
Nolan says that Torres was a perfect model for his designs. "It's one thing to look great at 41 -- it's another thing to be able to make the Olympic team competing against 16-year-olds, and then win a silver medal!"
Perhaps we should think about adding Torres to Asylum's picks for the sexiest Olympians ...

US swimmers Katie Hoff (L) and Dara Torres (R) arrive for a promotional event to celebrate the end of the Olympic swimming programme in Beijing on August 17, 2008. Hoff's ambitious six-event programme at the Beijing Olympics ended without yielding a gold medal as she failed to qualify for the final of the 800m freestyle. She was pipped for gold by Adlington in the 400m freestyle and settled for bronze in the 400m medley as Australian Stephanie Rice reclaimed the world record from the American, and nabbed a bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay. robinoden- A lot writeen but nothing said. Do you know what you are talking about when you talkk about Universal Health Care. It doesn't work-ask Canadians and Brits. You're left with less than desireable Drs. and you wait, and maybe to your death, for treatment. Besides, guess who would pay. Hint-look in the mirror. You talk about tax cuts for the rich and big companies. Did you know (of course you didn't) that the top 1% of the highest income already pay 50% of the taxes. Now you want to pile more taxes on them. Guess what! Look up trickle down economics. If these people are taxed even more many people will be effected. How about people that work in retail, contractors, plumbers, electricians, landscapers and the list goes on and on. How many poor people do you know that can create jobs? And while we're on the jobless, did you know that unemployment was higher under your former leader, Clinton? (again, of course not) You people need to sort out the facts not what you're being fed by the liberal news media as well as the lib hierarcy. If you think we're in Iraq for oil, I have different kool aid for you to try. xplain to me why oil keeps going up then. Could it be that your liberal buddies won't let us drill our own oil? (again, no clue) Your liberal friends must have run out of the really good stuff. If Nobama and his clueless friend who always votes the wrong way and not for the good of the American people are elected, we should consider moving and damn far away.

Going somewhere other than where we have been is a great idea for our country. Going where Obama and his gang would take us is not in the best interest of this country. I have a problem with the Marcist background that Mr. Obama has and that's not just me talking. Do your research and you will find that his years in Chicago had him involved with some very questionable individuals and organizations. Now am I really fired up about Republican candidate? Not really...He's another professional politition. They all tell us what they think we want to hear...Republican or Democrat...They all do the same things when wanting our vote...Problem is we believe them and vote them in anyway...What a shame...

Act your age? What the heck does that mean? Oh, I know, if you're over forty you probably groan everytime you attempt to bend down and bending is kind of hard to do, because that big beer belly really gets in the way. Your face is bloated and the ankles swell. These conditions have nothing to do with age. It comes from being lazy, out of shape and overindulging. Try putting the beer can and chips down. Get off your butt and start moving, instead of being jealous, you could look and feel good too....or keep telling yourself that "age lie" and keep using it as an excuse to be bloated, with a big belly and out of shape. In other words, stay miserable, but you don't have to.
