While The Strokes have been off the radar lately, their guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr., has flown the flag for the one-time coolest band in pop with two excellent solo albums of new wave, a high-profile hook-up with supermodel Agyness Dean and a newly announced line of suits.

We're probably more excited about the big-haired shredder's move into menswear than we are about the prospect of that elusive fourth Strokes album. After all, Hammond was supposedly responsible for the group's highly influential skinny-fit thrift store chic.

If you can't wait for co-designer Ilaria Urbinati to begin selling Hammond's sartorial creations in her Los Angeles store, here's how to mimic the rocker's vintage-flavored hipster style.

Morphine Generation Men's White Slade Tee
Ideally, you'll want to go digging round second-hand stores or eBay to emulate Hammond's Cat Stevens T-shirt, but failing that, pick up this excellent "evil David Bowie" number from hip L.A. label Morphine Generation. ($78 from Kitson)

Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Repeat Star Hi
Converse no longer makes the classic Stars and Stripes Chuck Taylors sported by Hammond, so this similarly spangled pair will have to suffice. Just be sure to get 'em nice and tatty to complete the rock star look. ($49 from Converse)

Diesel Pin Star Belt in Ivory

Kanvis Slim Fit Jean in White
The Strokes rocked all-white duds for the video for 2006 single "You Only Live Once." Hammond keeps the tradition alive with this well put together jeans-and-belt combo. ($72 from RevolveClothing.com)
