They may be thieves, but at least they're having safe sex.

A "condom-mobile" in Mexico City was stolen recently, and the robbers made off with a bountiful prophylactic booty, including 5,000 condoms, sound equipment, and a motor that inflates a giant condom. Oddly, the 23-foot inflatable condom itself was left behind.

The truck is used to promote HIV/AIDS awareness, and has toured the country since 1998, distributing over 1.2 million condoms. It was taken from a street parking spot, and police found it at a shopping mall. The stolen vehicle was pretty easy for the fuzz to spot since it's painted with "images of a peeled banana, the exposed part shaped like a condom, and a shirtless man saying: 'I protect myself. Do you?'"

Needless to say, we're convinced that if that imagery didn't scare off thieves, there's no such thing as a fool-proof anti-theft device.
