We practice one form of martial arts -- called Miyagi-do karate -- that involves acupressure techniques learned through waxing cars and painting fences. At no point does it include anything about nudity. So we weren't surprised to hear that a Gettysburg, Pa. man got karate chopped by the law over the summer when he exhibited naked kung fu moves in a trailer park common area.
Gary Jones, 47, has been charged with open lewdness, indecent exposure and public drunkenness after neighbors say he came out of his trailer in the buff, yelling and asking them if they wanted to get in a fight. When cops arrived on the scene, they found empty vodka bottles in his living room, surprising no one who's ever seen an episode of "Cops."
Jones says he didn't know that naked karate was illegal. He claims he was simply emotionally wrought at the time, and is a "serious martial artist."
Question raised: Would you have called the cops right away or humored Jones by giving him a roundhouse?
